Seafood Labeling can be Confusing

Wild caught marketing
Seafood labeling is not standardized. There is movement to the public know their purchase is sustainable seafood. In short substainable seafood is using best practice of fishing by not over fishing and not unduly the environment when fishing.
Several of the markings found on your seafood label include the certification from MSC which is from the Marine Stewartship Council or ASC Aquaculture Stewardship Council, and just words on the label wild caught, and farm raised.
Many products are labeled wild caught like on the tin of Beach Cliff Sardines which looks similar to the MSC logo.
